John Mooney
Director of Formation and Mission
John has been the Director of Formation and Mission for Sophia Education Ministries since 2019.
He has an educational career spanning more than 35 years at Kincoppal-Rose Bay, School of the Sacred Heart, Sydney, serving as Religious Education Coordinator (1986 -1992) and Director of Mission (1993 – 2024). He offers Formation to Boards and Principals throughout the Australia New Zealand Network (ANZNet) of Sacred heart Schools, as well as contributing to the formation of Heads of Sacred Heart Educational Institutes throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand (ASIANZ).
John holds a Master of Theology, a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education, and Diploma of Counselling,
Mel Keating 
Executive Officer, Company Secretary and Safeguarding Officer
Mel has served as the Executive Officer for Sophia Education Ministries since 2019.
With over 30 years of finance experience, Mel is a qualified management accountant with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). She has held senior leadership roles in both the UK and Australia. Her professional background is varied and includes work across shipping, logistics, stevedoring, wine retail, and a medical device start‑up.
